I developed a new visual identity for Stauning, a Danish whisky brand entering the US market, translating the brand’s ties to Danish craft and design for an unfamiliar audience. The work interpreted the strategic platform “Danish by Design” through typography, color, illustration, and structural systems. Drawing from historic Danish furniture advertising, broader Scandinavian design principles, and the physical details of the distillery itself, the identity used blueprint references and restrained, natural palettes to signal precision and care. Built as a flexible system, it balanced cultural specificity with accessibility for new consumers. The identity debuted through Rye and Records, a series of listening and tasting experiences in New York City and Chicago, alongside point-of-sale applications.
